356 Carburetor Rescue
Meticulous restoration of Solex and Zenith carburetors for early Porsche automobiles. Sedona, Arizona.
We Can Make Your Car Run Better
We "rescue" original carburetors for the 356 and 912 Porsches — Zenith and Solex only — by doing complete restorations, not rebuilds. We also restore Bosch distributors for early Porsches, including select 911 models.
Carburetors are restored to stock specifications unless otherwise requested. Adjustments to injection and float levels account for changes in modern fuels. Lead times are approximately 4 weeks, less from our stock of cleaned cores, more for special machining. Peak seasons can extend to 8–10 weeks.

Why Restore, Not Just Rebuild?
A rebuild replaces gaskets and limited parts. A restoration addresses much more.
Decades of use clog jets, degrade gaskets, and prevent a proper air-fuel mix. Overtightening distorts pot metal bodies and deforms carburetor throats. Jets erode to larger sizes from fuel passage. Butterflies wear, shafts bend.
We clean your carbs chemically, then hand-clean every passage. We provide flat mating surfaces, rebore Solex throats to round, and gauge all jets for correct sizing. Every problem gets addressed — not just the obvious ones.
Well-tuned carburetors give better gas mileage (we've had reports of 33 mpg on road trips) and cut fuel emissions.
Maintain Your Carburetors
Regular rebuilds with fresh gaskets alert you to problems like fuel leaks. And fuel leaks equal fire.
We guarantee our work — see our warranty. Check our troubleshooting guide before sending carbs in.
